How to protect your File in a simple way
Few days ago I get a new idea to protect any files without any file protecting software. The files are protected by password. I am done this by a much known application. It is installed in most of all computers around the world. I know you are waiting to hear about the application.
Ok dears I am telling. The application is MS Excel. Have you shocked? You will be more shocked when you see, how to protect files in some easy steps.
Import a file on spreadsheet
First you have to Import a file as an object which you want to protect. Now open MS Excel and do the following steps:
1. Select any cell from the spreadsheet.
2. Go to Insert > Object.
3. A window will appear. From there click on Create from File tab.
4. Click on Browse and a double click on your file.
5. Click ok and finish it.
You will see the file has appeared on the spreadsheet. The file has same icon which you see on your computer.
Test the file
Before protecting the file you should test it and make it sure that the file is created correctly. Double click on the file (or icon). If the file is open as it open on your operating system, it is ok.
Protect the file from others
Now you should protect your file and give it to a secret password. So that only you can access to this file. To protect your file do the following steps:
1. Go to File > Save As or press F12 key.
2. On the Save as window click on Tools > General Option.
3. Enter two passwords. One is for to open the file and one is for to modify the file. Click ok and enter the passwords again.
4. Close Ms Excel after clicking the save button.
Protect folder
If you want to protect any of your folders, compress it and make it a Zip file. After that do the 1st, 2nd and 3rd steps.
Again test the file to see is it all ok
After saving file you should test it again. You should see, the password is working or not.
Now go to the directory where you saved your Excel file. Open it and enter passwords to access. If your password is accepted then it is all ok.
